What Must I Do to be Saved?

God wants to have a relationship with his creation! The Bible teaches us that the only way to have a relationship with God the Father is through believing in His son, Jesus Christ.

Why?

Man is sinful! We are born into sin that keeps us away from God. We do things that dishonor our bodies and those around us, but most importantly, things that dishonor God. We are unable to satisfy all of the many laws of holiness and purity that God requires, but there is Good News! Jesus came into the world, lived a pure life (healing people along the way), and died as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins, for the word says, "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" Romans 6:23.

Now, because of Christ, the divider that once existed between us (creation) and God is now gone! The power of sin is broken and we are made righteous in God's sight! Even more, this means that we can go to heaven after our time on Earth is done. The only requirement is that we believe in what Jesus Christ did for us.

Take this moment to reflect...

Are you looking for more in life? Are you discontent with your current relationship with God? Do you feel there is a part of you missing? Have you tried other spiritual routes that have left you dissatisfied or unfulfilled?

Try Jesus!

If you are ready to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, keep reading!

THE ROMAN ROAD TO SALVATION

(1) Acknowledge that you are a sinner

Romans 3:10 "As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one"

Romans 3:23 "...For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"

(2) Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross in your place

Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

(3) Confess that Jesus is Lord

Romans 10:9-10 "If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."

Let us pray

Lord Jesus, I admit I am a sinner. I come to you asking for Your forgiveness, believing by faith You will forgive me. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I believe that due to your sacrifice I am made new, and sin does not control me anymore. I receive You today, come into my life and heart, and lead me. I accept You as my Lord and Savior from this day forward. Amen!

Before you go, here are some tips for your new life in Christ!

  • Keep praying and trusting God, no matter what comes your way.

  • Reading the Bible can be confusing and overwhelming; ask God to reveal His truth to you and help you to understand.

  • Find believers to connect with to hold you accountable and help you in your new journey.

  • Worship wins battles! When you are feeling down, turn your focus to God to lift you up.

  • Being a Christian is a marathon, not a race, don't compare your relationship to anyone else.

  • Temptations will come, and if you fall into sin, repent! Turn to God for forgiveness that is readily available and continue on your journey of transformation.
